Is there any legitimate reason for the NY Times to publish this piece at all - much less on their website's home page? This "story" broke over a week ago with no further information made available.

Spy Case Renews Debate Over Pro-Israel Lobby's Ties to Pentagon

The underlying tone is that somehow some Jews convinced President Bush to send hundreds of thousands of Americans (and others of course) into harm's way. Even if one could make the argument that it should be illegal for a state or lobbying group to argue in one's own interest, it's as if they're suggesting that the Jews secretly wormed their way in to the administration and slipped them some sort of Jew-drug for the U.S. administration to go against its own interests.
